Flight characteristics:
Debuting at the top of our “nerdiest names” list is the Proton Photon, but this model is no joke. Our 21mm Distance Driver class hit the scene at fever pitch for demand of high-speed GYRO® distance drivers, and for powerful throwers, the Photon hits a highly usable sweet spot of stability. With enough power or mitigating wind, the Photon can exhibit a nice flight-extending shallow turnover. Typically the Photon is used for high power straight shots with an ending fade.
Disc type:
Distance drivers = very fast, aerodynamically shaped discs for the longest throws. Controlling the distance driver already requires some experience, skills and especially the right throwing technique - nothing for beginners.
Plastic type:
Cosmic neutron plastic is MVP's premium opaque plastic with bright easy to find colors. This plastic is similar to Innova's Star plastic. Neutron plastic provides the disc with a very neutral flight and does not sway the flight to overstable or understable characteristics. Neutron also shares the durability characteristics of Proton plastic with their extremely durable Overmold technology.

Note: Neutron is considered the reference plastic. Fission offers enhanced glide but can be less stable. Prism adds color and durability, while R2 is a sustainable alternative with a similar feel.
